Can you combine curves in sketch?

I have an instance where I am making a Swept Blend between several sets of sketches.

The resulting solid has very poor curvature.  I know that if I could move the edge of one of my segments in a sketch that I would get a better looking Swept Blend.  The only problem is that the 2 adjacent sketch segments are a line and an arc.  I can split both of these segments but can not to my knowledge join them together.

Is there any concatenate functionality within a sketch, just like there is outside of sketch using the copy and paste command?

Below you can see the edge of curve that I would like to move, but not add a split.

Within sketch mode the only option I know of is to convert the entities to a spline, this will combine them but will alter the geometry as your C1 connection will become C2 when converting to a spline. It will also alter the number of entities in the sketch which may affect the swept blend.

So, would C2 then be better quality curvature?

The result does remove the kink by the way.

Yes, it is a higher order connection. Note that G and C are interchangeable in this context.

C0= position

C1= tangent continuity

C2= curvature continuity (interior of Creo splines)

Yes.

Select the entities to combine and Select Operations>Convert To>Spline.

There is always more to learn.

Thank you,

I'm not sure I would have found that command.  🙂

Yes, even years into the software there are plenty of surprises.

If you do convert only two entities of a sketch comprised of more than two entities, you will need to be diligent about selection of the sketch entities in the swept blend sections. Make sure to include only the spline and not the underlying curves.
