Creo 2.0 simplefied reps tool is not good in comparision to PTC wildfire-4.

Creating the simplified Reps quickly was one of the power full tool of large assembly management.That was excellent upto version PTC wildfire-4.

But in Creo-2 this simplified reps creation is very much complex..Its not that much simple & quick as it used to be..

That small window itself takes large time in case of large assembly.And sometime system hangs...I hope PTC would draw the attention to change this tool to wildfire-4 level.

Because this is an excellent tool for large assembly management & with Creo-2 instead of improvement user has to struggle a lot to quickly make,Redefine a simplified reps.

Try this in your config:

new_wf5_simp_rep_ui no

This will make Creo use the old style simp rep dialog:

    That is a work around, not a real solution to the problem.

    Could you specify what you see as a real problem in simpreps workflow ?

    There are at least 3 - 4 ways to define simplified representation, easiest has no UI at all and is the fastest one (select component / RMB / Representation). There is "intermediate" way defining simprep by components list in View Manager / simprep / Properties. - this should also be a fast one. And for users who need fully functional simprep definition - with preview (new capability), rules, proximity and size analysis - you go to the bigger dialogue which - due to preview - may be a little laggy (collapsing Preview area eliminates this lags).
