Question

Creo file thumbnails in Windows Explorer

Is it possible to display thumbnails for PVZ files in Windows Explorer when only Creo View is installed locally?

The Help Center says:

You can view thumbnail images of files in the File Open dialog box, Creo Parametric browser, Model Tree, and Windows Explorer.

...but nothing is said about how this can be set up or what the requirements are.

Hi,

according to the description of saving_model_thumbnails option available in http://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/fundamentals/fundamentals/fund_one_sub/fundamentals_configuration_options.html document thumbnails are saved in native Creo file. Therefore pvz file does not contain thumbnail picture.
