Question

Delay between assembly windows

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.0.0

Creo is non responsive for 1-1.5 mins when switching windows between large assemblies. Recently software was updated from Creo 3 to Creo 7. I did not experience this issue in Creo 3.

Have you updated the driver for your graphics card? This could be part of the problem.  Has anything else changed with HW or OS  since migrating to Creo 7? Is your hardware and OS supported for Creo 7?

System requirements can be found here:

It appears my Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 does not make the approved list.

According to one post I saw on line the 530 is the bottom of the food chain and known to run slow.

That is an Intel CPU integrated graphics engine. I would expect poor performance (relative to supported GPU) with large assemblies in Creo using this for GPU. An updated driver should help but an ISV approved GPU will be superior.

How many components are in these "large" assemblies that you are working with?

Hi,
is a topic that interests me.
1 minute delay is really anomalous, maximum I waited about 10 sec.
In any case I suggest you give it a try.

From my experience reducing the number of columns loaded in the model tree of parameters and various info, IDs, etc ... (some columns will be heavier than others) you should get a reduction in the delay in switching between one window and another.
Doing so in my cases I get the reduction of half the time.

I would be curious if you try to set up a model tree with no accessory columns and notify me if you get any improvements.
Thank you.

I don't have the feature IDs showing in the tree or anything else. Usually I only use that in the part files to trouble shoot.
