Is it possible to rotate an surface edge (3D) around an axle?

If not - is there any workarounds?

Is i possible to rotate anything else but a sketch?

There's no direct way to do so, but you can create the geometry with a variable section sweep.  I covered this at MCAD Central a while back, check out this threadSample Creo 2 part in this post, full explanation starting in this one.

What kind of output are you trying to get? For simple rotation about an axis, you can use pattern. Copy/paste the edge to get a copy, then use axis pattern.

I'm trying to create a revolved surface from a 3d edge (not 2d sketch).

In Rhino it is not an issue, it just works.
