Layering Question (Version: CREO 7.0.12)

May I know what is the function of "Update Layer" in this tab? it is grayed out in every layer.

It is used when layer rules are enabled for a layer. If it is not enabled for selection, then you should not need to use it. It is used to force application of the rules for the layer manually as shown below in the hint shown in the UI. If it is not documented in the help files, open a call with PTC and ask them to provide the documentation for it.
