Hi All,
Not sure if this is possible in CREO but I was looking to pattern a feature between 2 planes, so if you change the instance it will adjust the spacing automatically. Not a complicated thing to calculate manually but was curious whether the software can do this automatically within the pattern feature.
TIA.
Probably/maybe but we would need to understand the design intent in more detail to answer your question. Post an illustration of what would be the nature of the pattern instances relative to the planes.
Here it is in a simplistic form, hope that makes sense, so I will pattern that extruded circle 11 times for example.
If I understand correctly, you want to place 11 circles over a linear distance (equally spaced) between the planes. A pattern alone is not sufficient to do this, but you can use relations to implement this design intent, Once you do the first one you can reuse it in other features/models if you are clever about the implementation.
This is available for an axial pattern but not linear AFAIK.
OK thanks for the update, to be honest it is such a simple task it is quicker for me to use a calculator than drive the relations etc. I'm relatively new to CREO coming from SW so not fully aware of all the feature capabilities. Glad it wasn't me missing something.
Refer to this thread for an example of a similar but more complex approach to spacing along a linear axis.
