import of step file generates a part for each feature

Hi,

We changed from Inventor to CREO, now if we import a stp file (or an INVENTOR assembly) every part becomes an asssembly and every feature becomes a part, generating hundrets of parts and assemblies.

We need to get the parts and assemblies as in our old drawings. So every part should be a part and every assembly should be an assembly.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried opening up the native files? I don't personally use Unite, but that might help solve the issue.

Refer to this example to open Inventor files directly in Creo . This requires the Unite technology functionality which you hopefully have in your Creo license. With your legacy designs existing as Inventor files I would maintain them in that format and would not convert them to STEP.
