Question

preselection stops...

Hi all,



Anyone experience your preselection and / or smart filter occasionally stop
working in an assembly? The only way I have been able to get it back is
clear the session and reload the assy. I cannot pinpoint when or how it
happens. It is likely a mapkey that causes it, but I am not paying
attention that closely.



Thoughts?

I've found that when I use the separate pop-up window of the part being assembled I usually lose the preselecting highlight. Not always, but most times. Reactivating the window session usually restores it. I never noticed this issue until we went to WF5.

I've had the pre-selection stop working on me as well, in both assembly and in drawing mode. In drawing mode, I've noticed that if I save the drawing then that function will come back. It seems like it happens most when I'm trying to pre-select a row of a table, it'll only highlight or pick the cell, and won't toggle thru the column or the row. If I save the drawing, then I can pre-select the cell and toggle thru to get the row or column. I haven't tried the save trick in assembly mode, as most of the time I'm not ready to save it yet.

I now see that I do not need to clear the session to gain back
pre-highlighting. I lost PH in a sub-assy, verified it worked in the TLA,
tried the save method Ted suggested w/o success, closed the subasm, and
re-opened it and the PH is working again. I will try it next time w/o
saving - just for fun.



I also seem to lose the ability to RMB for some context menus. I am not
sure if the two are related. The symptom is that I RMB to (e.g.) flip the
constraint in a component redefine. The RMB context menu comes up, but as
soon as I move the cursor to select something, the menu disappears. This
happens in some, but not all context menus. Hopefully the same workaround
applies. Anyone see this?
