Creo view functionality in web browser

Bring back Creo view functionality in the web browser.

Can you clarify a little bit on what functionality you feel is missing and in which context (is this opening data into Creo View directly or visualizing data in the context of another PTC application like Windchill)?  Creo View was previously embedded in the web browser via plugin technology (which is no longer supported in  browsers), however it always existed as a desktop application and needed to be installed on the desktop in order to view things in the context of a browser.

Is your concern that the approach of launching the application directly has some missing functionality or that you'd like to move away from being dependent on a desktop application?

Hi,

I would very much like to bring back the functionality to view models/assemblies/drawings from within the browser and not have to rely on opening the standalone view. Many other PLM/PDM suites allow this functionality but it appears Windchill has taken a step back in this regard.

I would very much like to avoid using a standalone desktop application. It is easier to manage in a company where not all the computers have creo view installed.

Thank you for clarifying the request.

Just for transparency, Windchill has always required Creo View (or Product View) to be installed on computers in order to view data (even within the browser) so in that regard there was  no "step backwards" because although the data was presented in the browser, it was still using the desktop application to do so.

That being said, your request is something we are working on actively because it is the logical next step as a transition for Creo View.

Thank you for clarifying that point.

Is there a timeline as to when this feature may be rolled out ? or is it simply in the pipeline?

Thanks
