How to build a mechanism which allows the first part slides in and then get in contact with the second part and then slide together.

Add both parts with Slider connection (connect them to the ground body sliding surface separately, not to each other), and then add Cam between them with liftoff allowed. This will allow sliding apart, contact, and then sliding togather.

Thanks, Vlad. It is very helpful. But this CAM1/CAM2 Front/Back & Depth is confusing me on this slider. Can you tell me what they are and how to select
