How to find assembly cut

How to find assembly cut

Hi,

I have an assy model which gives me the warning: ASSEMBLY CUT is entirely outside the model; model unchanged.

I can't seem to find the assy cut in my model tree (quite large). Does it have to reside in the top level assy or could the problem originate from an assy cut in a sub assy?

Is there any way to find the feature number of the cut from the display log from which the warning occurs?

Many thanks,

Rohan (WF4)

Rohan,

try opening trail file in Notepad and search for "ASSEMBLY CUT is entirely outside the model; model unchanged". Maybe you can find some valuable information.

Hi Martin,

Very useful tip! Allows me to see what sub-assy/part ProE was attempting to regen at the time the error occured.

Thanks very much

It could be in that assembly or a subassy.

I assume that you have features displayed in your model tree?

Turn on features in the assembly tree and expand all

Use the search tool.

Feature/Feature/type/category: All/Value: Extruded (or revolved)/Find now.

As you highlight the found items in the search tool, they will highlight in the tree.

Hi Antonius,

Thanks for your suggestion. I hadn't really used the search tool previously so thanks for opening my eyes to it's potential.

Cheers
