Question

ISODraw requires internet connectivity

While attempting to start ISODraw, an error is generated, "License request failed for feature ISODraw". This error occurs when the PC is not connected to any network. Once connected to a network, ISODraw successfully starts. The license that is used is a node lock license.

Is there any method to have ISODraw start when not connected to a network? Connectivity is an issue when at sea for the Navy. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lisa,

Try to contact with PTC's technical support by using this link: https://support.ptc.com/apps/case_logger_viewer/auth/ssl/log

Does you have PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE environment variable point to a license server on a remote machine, or does it point to a file on your local machine?

Hi Tim,

The environment variable points to a location on the local hard drive. It is a node lock license.

Hi Lisa,

I think the most probable cause is that your license is bound to a Wifi mac address instead of a ethernet one.

Since these are unavailable when not connected to a network the mac address will also be unavailable and the licence request will fail.

Great info Manar. Looks like this is covered in an article in our knowledge base:

https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS38934&source=tssearch

Try out that solution Lisa, and let us know if it works when off the network.

Rafael,

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, when attempting to access that document, an error is generated:

ERROR: Document 38934 is not in customer viewable as it is an internal PTC document.

Can you send me the narrative of this Case?

Lisa
