Migration path from SMA to TIA?

We currently have SMA implemented with key-based addressing. There is a lot of talk with regards to the SLM solution (SIM and Service Parts) that key-based addressing is unsupported and that TIA is the direction to move toward. We are interested in learning about others faced with having to migrate from SMA to TIA and developing a new strategy that doesn't utilize the key-based addressing approach.
