Modify Attributes causing program crash?

Hi everyone,

I am having a problem I hope someone can help me with...I have installed a DTD, associated a style sheet in a new document in Arbortext 5.3. When I select the introductory tag and attempt to insert an attribute I am prompted with the "Modify Atributes" tab. After selecting any of the options, I see the information populate the program, however the modify attributes popup completely freezes and I have to control alt delete. Can anyone please tell me what is happening here? I'm basically unable to do anything in the program now. Thanks very much

I have a few clarifying questions...

Do you mean the "root" tag as the introductory tag?

Is the issue reproducible with other (non-root/non-introductory) tags?

What do you mean as "I see the information populate the program"?

Is the issue reproducible with non-custom doctypes (e.g. DITA topics or Docbook)?

What build (M???) are you using? Did you try another builds or 5.4?

I realize this was a long time ago but was it ever resolved. I just installed patch M190 for AE 5.3 and when I open the attributes window it just freezes. I have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it.
