How to create raised text on outside of an irregular shape vessel

Can anyone tell me how to create some raised text and volume indictor lines (.03 high) on the outside of an irregular shaped container. The container is shelled.

I am on WF4.

First copy the surfaces you want the text on. Then project datum curves onto the surface, trim the surface using the curves. Finally thicken the trimmed quilt.

Select the surface then click edit and select offset from the dropdown menu. In the offset options select the second offset type from the first dropdown menu called "with draft feature". Then click on the refrences tab and slect the sketch edit button. It will prompt you for a plane to put the sketch on so select a plane that is somewhat parallel to the surface you want the text on and sketch the text you want to raise. The offset will only effect the sketched area.
