    How close to accurate and detailed do you need it?

    This is normally overkill, but it would look something like this:

    Many patterned sweeps and a few point-to-point datum curves.

    Creo 2.0 file attached.

    Dear Kevin

    Many years ago I created this model of Toroidal Coil

    Try to investigate the model tree and you will see that I have used only curves and Sweep feature - it is not necessary to create Pattern feature.

    If you need to manage number of coil thread - you can easy change the Parameter (in my example - POCET_ZAVITOV (slovak name)):

    Here is the Tutorial for you: User defined springs

    Vladimir, is there a reason you don't prefer patterns?

    I considered two things when posting this method;

    • The pattern break at the crossover wire.
    • The level of complexity to construct the model.

    I like the way you intersected the surfaces to create the sweep trajetory but it leaves little room for the interuption requiring two such features.

    In the end, the patterned model with a few sweep sections seems simpler in this particular case.

    Hi Antonius, I like the pattern feature and sweep feature too - PTC Creo is my favorite.

    Your model is really good, I like it too.

    I wanted to show the other method for you and others members
