"File > Open" vs Local Browser

I like the local browser that is built into Pro/E and accessed from the side bar. The disadvantage is that it seems to forget the last folder you had open if you change windows. If not for this then I would replace the 'open' button the toolbar with a mapkey for the local browser.

Does anyone know if the local browser can be configured to behave like the File > Open dialogue, or if there is another setting to specify that Pro/E should always use the local browser and always remember the last used folder?

My main reasons are that the window size is better, giving a big useful preview, and the filters are at the top.
