Serious differences between 2.0 and 4.0 API?

Are there any major API changes that would prevent a Creo Parametric 2.0 application (addin) from working in Creo Parametric 4.0?

Did you relink it with the Creo 4.0 API dlls?

The version of VC may have changed?

    Hi Ben,

     

    Sorry for not being clearer--we haven't tried running this with Creo 4.0 yet, we were just wondering if there were any changes that would be necessary to use an application compiled for 2.0 with 4.0.  

     

    If we find it doesn't work with 4.0, and relinking against new libs or using the correct version of the C++ compiler is all it takes to make it work, that would be a big relief. 🙂

    Update: We were able to try our application (built for 2.0) on a customer's Creo Parametric 3.0 installation, and it worked as-is.  Hopefully the same goes for newer versions of Creo.

    In general, all applications written using API Creo 2 must to work in Creo 4.
