Data transfer solution for 4000 devices

- Our side is making field devices running OPC UA Client protocol, using SIM7600 module, connecting and receiving data via 4G to OPC UA Server running on a server with static IP and opening ports for devices to display. field connect to
- The number of our field devices is about 4000 devices. Each field device runs independently. Each field device will write 150 data fields (tags) to the server
- Currently, the OPC UA server that we are installing can only have 128 connections, I want to increase this number of connections, what is the solution?

You mentioned you have about 4000 devices. Would these devices be acting as Clients requesting data from KEPServerEX or would you be using the Kepware OPC UA Client driver to pull data from the devices?

Ok, so you would need to use the Kepware OPC UA Client driver. Unfortunately, there is a hard coded limited to the number channels in which you can define in the KEPServerEX configuration The limit is 256 and this amount cannot be increased. There would also be a potential issue with number of threads created with 4000 OPC UA connections on a single machine since KEPServerEX is a 32-bit application.  It would take a minimum of 16 instances of KEPServerEX on separate machines to make 4000 UA server to device connections.
