Is There a Way to Disable System & Statistics Tags in KepServerEX OPC Client?

Hello,

I am currently working with the KepServerEX OPC Client, and I have noticed that “system” and “statistics” tags are received automatically. Is there a way to disable these tags or prevent them from being sent? Any guidance or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I hope you're doing well.

To Disable Automatic Tag Generation:

  • Open the OPC Quick Client.
  • Navigate to Tools > Options.
  • Check the option to Ignore browse paths containing leading underscores when auto-building.

This can help prevent the automatic generation of certain system tags.

Hello ntripathi,

Thank you for your suggestion about disabling automatic tag generation, but I'd like to clarify something important.

The solution you provided refers to the OPC Quick Client settings, which helps prevent browsing certain paths with leading underscores. However, this doesn't fully solve our issue with Citect SCADA.

In Citect SCADA, when we're pulling data via OPC, the system tags keep appearing every time we browse, even after applying your suggested setting. The OPC Quick Client setting only affects that particular client, not the core Citect SCADA OPC browsing behavior.

Greetings @EA_11204094,

I am writing to inform you that the settings to ignore browsing system tags are only available in the OPC Quick Client. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable browsing system tags in KEPServerEX.

I would suggest checking the SCADA client to see if there is a setting to disable system and statistics tags.

Thank you for your understanding.
