Redundancy master does not detect available OPC servers on the network(entire netwok), is it possible to add a server manually?

All tested clients connected OK,  then maual add servers by name or IP.

OPC servers - Windows 11 with Keepware 6.16
OPC clients - Windows 2022 with Redundancy master2

Hello,

Yes, you can try adding the OPC server manually and see if it works. Note that OPC DA connections rely on the DCOM authentication rules set within the Windows operating systems and require common user accounts and passwords to allow applications to communicate with each other over that protocol. OPC DA applications, such as Redundancy Master, work within the bounds of proper DCOM configuration. You can refer to our DCOM guide to verify the configuration if manual addition doesn't work.

Hello,

I also checked, and you are right; there is no option to add an OPC server manually. I apologize for the oversight. I would suggest checking the DCOM settings or using third-party software like OPC Expert to help fix the DCOM issue.

Also, please note the following:

  • LinkMaster or RedundancyMaster can successfully be installed on operating systems newer than Server 2012, however this is not a supported deployment of the application and Technical Support services cannot assist in troubleshooting or resolving issues for an unsupported OS
  • Server 2016 has been successfully utilized by some customers
  • Server 2019 and Server 2022 have been identified as having issues with network browsing that affects the functionality of LinkMaster, deployment to these operating systems is NOT recommended
  • Use of Hardware key licensing for LinkMaster or RedundancyMaster on newer operating systems is NOT recommended
  • Use of an unsupported OS is at the risk of the customer and thorough testing is recommended before purchasing licenses for this product
  • DCOM hardening by Microsoft can also affect this product's ability to connect to target OPC DA servers
