Not clear from the media what the technical problem was. It looked the Venturi effect created by the chimney was enough to cool down to the crystal point of the H2S. Same problem happen in the extraction of heavy water [Girder process]. It causes the plant to shut down and the rest for about 6 months, wrapping the towers in plastic and heat the bloody thing.
