We are currently running the old version 2 of CREO Academic and just recently we are receiving the error, License request failed for feature
Could someone advise how we resolve the licensing request.
Hi,
usually Firewall running on license server blocks an access to licenses from client machines.
Turn off Firewall on license server and test Creo start on client.
If you cannot do previsous step then you have to define rules in Firewall configuration. Enable incoming requests for lmgrd.exe, lmadmin.exe, ptc_d.exe programs (they are located in FLEXnet installation).

Thanks for the information however, the firewall on the license server is turned off so communication is not being blocked.
Where is the license file held and does this need updating annually?
Seems everything was just fine and I am wondering if the license has expired, even though I believe the product is free for educational use.

Hi,
license manager is represented by system service:
FLEXlm Server for PTC ... in case of FLEXnet 10.8
lmadmin_ptc ... in case of FLEXnet 11.x
In service properties you will find installation directory of FLEXnet. License file is located in licensing sub-directory and its name is license.dat.
