PTC University Learning Exchange – FAQ: Error loading player

"I have the latest Flash Player installed, but still get this error message preventing me from watching the video:
Error loading player; Could not load player configuration."

 

This error is reported to us occasionally and seems to result from conflicting firewall settings in the customer’s company. If it happens, please access PTC University Learning Exchange from outside of your company network.

We are experiencing the "error loading player" message ONLY when accessing the Learning Exchange Flash videos from within the embedded browser in Creo 2.0 (both IE settings).

We can watch the Flash videos in IE 9 (both 32 and 64 bit) as well as Firefox and Chrome.

The videos even work in the mozilla based embedded browser.

The error is specific to the IE embedded browser (currently IE9).  I have not tried IE 10 or 11 as those are not compatable with our PDMLink yet.

For us, it is not a firewall or company setting.  Creo doesn't like Flash in the embedded IE browser.
