Year end review

Good day,

2025 was a wild year for sustainability.  Compliance fragmented regionally, but global manufacturers generally kept progressing, understanding the highest common denominator is often the profitable way to grow within global value chains.

At PTC, to help manufacturers with core challenges (measuring product footprints, reducing them, and establishing circular business models), with your consult, we enhanced offerings in:

  • Digital product passports with CAD + PLM material management enhancements
  • BOM roll-ups for life cycle inventory calculations
  • LCA integration pre-configuration to better automated passport/EPD creation and hot spot analysis
  • ALM sustainability requirements templating
  • SLM asset systems of record enhancement for "as-serviced" passports
  • Our education assets, publishing our Product Sustainability for Dummies download

Investing for the future, we:

  • Joined the board of the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) and progressed a proof of concept on their passport standard (Asset Administrative Shell) at Hannover Messe.
  • Continued AI investment with our ECAM and UTC professor chairs, who are researching methods to prompt and interact with CAD+PLM users on sustainability decisions.
  • With Cornell Johnson business school, did deep dives into aerospace and automotive circularity.
  • Complementing our 2024 11-week European tour, completed a 3-week Asia tour in November after covering the Americas extensively earlier in the year.  With this, we've completed a full cycle of global manufacturing engagement to understand universal and regional sustainability needs.

Thank you for all of your participation, and we look forward to working with you in 2026.  To close, we'd like to share a short impactful perspective from NYU Stern's sustainability program chair:  https://trellis.net/article/lessons-from-a-decade-of-teaching-sustainability/

Happy holidays,

Dave
