Creo Installed on Amazon\Azure

Hello,

What is the Creo license model in the case of cloud deployment?

We would like to test deploying Creo on Azure VD to be streamed through the browser.

Is there a way to configure Azure VD Creo application in order to use the license servers we already have? Currently they are used by users with local copy of Creo. Can location specific licenses be used, do we need to use global ones or is there another type of license required?

 Hi,

The following article may be helpful - "Is it possible to use the FLEXnet license service on the Amazon Web Services AWS server in Creo Parametric": https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs271601

HI,

My question is also the price will be for the Creo License. Today there is different price on different zone.

I would like to be sure in future if I’ll go with Virtual Desktop on Azure how the licenses will be installed and how the users will use them.

Thx,

CC

You can fill out this form - "Have a Creo Representative Contact Me": https://www.ptc.com/en/products/creo/contact-us

While PTC can change things at any time, Creo Parametric is currently licensed on a 'Concurrent User' basis.

https://www.ptc.com/-/media/Files/PDFs/legal-agreements/fy22/licensing-basis-table/licensing-basis-table-en-oct-2022.pdf

"Except for “Global” and “Restricted Global” licenses, PTC products that are licensed on a Concurrent User basis may only be used by persons physically located in the country where the products are installed, and all of the software components shipped as part of that product (for example, client code and license server) may only be installed in the Designated Country. "

To meet these restrictions for USA based employees (for example), the Creo installation would need run on Azure servers physically located in the USA and only accessed by users who are also physically located in the USA.  If instead you wanted a single installation that could serve all users anywhere in the world, you would need to switch to 'Global' licenses.

PTC is in the process of coming out with a new 'flavor' of Creo called 'Creo+'.  This will not be a 'concurrent user' product but instead licensed by 'registered user'.  By definition, 'registered user' licenses can only be used by one person (whoever the license is assigned to), but they can be anywhere in the world (no 'global' license needed.)

Hi,

please ask PTC VAR.
