Creo View Express is still a free download. It has much more functionality than it did years ago. Very similar to Creo View Lite.

Creo View Lite has restrictions and therefore we use the editions Creo View MCAD, Creo View ECAD or Creo View MCAD and ECAD and a license server is necessary. Is there a possibility to use the MCAD and/or ECAD edition if the license server is via internet not available or the vpn connection to the company is not possible?

If you have license borrowing set up you can do that. It works the same way as it does with Creo Parametric. The borrow command is in the Creo View loadpoint at <LOADPOINT>\bin\pvlicense_borrow.exe. Run this while you're connected to your license server. Choose the number of days to check out a license. You cannot return the license earlier than the number of days chosen however.
