Question

Part cannot be retrieved WC 10.2 Creo 3

I could open parts fine in Creo 3 M120 / WC 10.2 fine for years but then recently I get the "cannot be retrieved" error whenever I try and open something from my workspace.

I have tried the following so far:

1. Using another PC - same error

2. Logging in with another user on my pc - works fine

3. Reinstalling Creo 3 M120 on my pc - error persists

4. Clearing cache - error persists

5. Deleting all existing workspaces and creating a new one - error persists

6. Deleting user and re-adding in WC - error persists

I think it must be a Creo agent issue or something similar? I have run out of ideas...

Hi,

  • export part to local disc
  • open part from local disc
  • open part in Notepad
    • check Creo version information
    • check whether part is corrupted

If you can upload the part, I'll try opening it.

Hi Martin,

It is not a specific part, it is just any part I add to my workspace from windchill.

Other users can open the same parts from their PC and I can also on my PC with another WC username, but just not my own WC user login details unfortunately

Hi,

please do simple test:

  • export part to local disc (from browser window)
  • open part from local disc

Sounds like a Windchill permission issue. Check with your admin for your permissions on the context that has that file. Check that your workspace is actived.

I was going to say that maybe the file was saved in a newer version of Creo, but your #2 says that is not the issue. Also the error message is wrong for opening a newer version file.
