Has anybody actually used WF5 to open an inventor 10 assembly file from within WF5. Is the result any better than saving a ProE neutral file in Inventor 10 and then opening in WF5, which is, the assembly comes in with dumb parts.

I have not used the Inventor functionality, but the SolidWorks functionality just brings in imported features.

So, I would think that it would be the same for Inventor. The thought is that the functions in the other CAD tool are different so Pro/E might not be able to recreate it correctly.

For SW you have to go through a long process of getting your legal department and the SW legal department to agree on the terms of a use policy to use the SW Document Manager.

Hope that helps.
