get back license files from PTC server

Hi,

We don't have maintenance anymore but we would like to receive licenses files.
I don't find how to on PTC web site but I'm pretty shure we could do this without maintenance in the pass.

Can someone tell me if it's possible or not please ?

Then, without maintenance, it's not possible to change its computer ?

Thanks,

You may have to call License Management to request your license now. Try that first. Have your Service Contract Number available. You will find that in: Help --> About within Pro.

If you have the license file you should be able to switch the network card to a new machine as long as the software will run on the new machine.

Over the years, PTC's policy on this has changed.
One thing for sure: It won't be free.

Years ago, PTC would charge a $500 fee for each license server change.

Last year, we were considering to not renew our maintenace.
I specifically asked our rep if we could transfer licenses while off maintenance.
He said that PTC no longer offers this service, even for a fee.
He said we must be on maintenance to make such changes.

I have always (well I only needed to do it once) been able to go to the
license reconfigure tool online and move my license from the old server
to the new one. I just checked and it appears you can still do it,
though I didn't hit the 'finish" button. Not positive it will actually
complete, but it looks like it will.

You can get there with this link...(you do need to have an account with
a login/password, but you don't need maintenance for that)

Licenses may be reconfigured for new hardware without an active maintenance agreement.

However, access to the web tools is for active maintenance customers only.

To reconfigured/move a license, contact PTC Customer Care at 877-275-4782 and follow the prompts to License Management. You will need your PTC Customer #, at minimum, to start the process.

I disagree. I haven't had maintenance for at least 3-4 years and was
able to get to the tool today as well as a few years ago when I moved
the config.

Maybe I'm special.... But I doubt it...

Ha ha! You ARE special!

Well, if that's true, it's all good regardless.

You can move licenses without an active maintenance agreement.

Kathy,

You are correct, but this was changed at some point. It used to be that you could not reconfigure online without maintenance, but now you can.

Thanks,
