Area Target from Leica RTC360

i have a scan from a plant and want to use it as an area target. my file is in the format *.e57. and im using the version 10.15.3 from the ATG

 

after a few seconds i get this error message:

 [ SUCCESS ] 'cartesianBounds' field in Data3D structure shall be defined.

 [ SUCCESS ] 'colorLimits' field in Data3D structure shall be defined with color minimum < color maximum for all channels.

 [ SUCCESS ] 'cartesianX', 'cartesianY', 'cartesianZ' fields in PointRecord structure shall be defined.

 [ SUCCESS ] 'colorRed', 'colorGreen', 'colorBlue' fields in PointRecord structure shall be defined.

 [   FAIL  ] 'nor:normalX', 'nor:normalY', 'nor:normalZ' fields in PointRecord structure shall be defined or we need to be able to estimate the normals. To estimate normals each Data3D structure shall have associated images from exactly one scanning position through Image2D associatedData3DGuid field.

 [ SUCCESS ] 'isColorInvalid' field in PointRecord structure must not be defined.

 [   FAIL  ] E57 shall contain one or more Image2D structures that have either 'sphericalRepresentation' field or 'pinholeRepresentation' field.

 [ SUCCESS ] 'pose' field in Image2D structure shall be defined.

 [ SUCCESS ] Spherical images shall have minimal resolution of 4096x2048 and their width = 2 * height.

 [ SUCCESS ] Pinhole images shall have minimal resolution of 1024x1024.

 [   FAIL  ] 'indexBounds' field in Data 3D shall be defined to allow for creation of an authoring mesh when each Data3D structure has associated images from exactly one scanning position through Image2D associatedData3DGuid field.

 

 

does anyone know what to do with this message and how to fix it?

the person who created the file in the orignal scan tool does not know what the message could mean

    I have the same problem. When I try to import E57 data into the Area Target Generator, it ends up with the exact same error. I would also like to know where the error is. I am also using ATG version 10.15.3.

    Hi @dkoester ,

    so the issue what you reported I discus this with R&D Team and there was the first feedback:

    On this particular one: they simply exported the scan in a wrong way from the Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 tool, hence the error. Partially, because our instructions on the Area Targets from Leica Scans | Vuforia Library are somewhat outdated.
Just this week we do have a running investigation with the latest REGISTER 360 Plus - v 2023.2 to fix these instructions.

    The issue with the particular E57 export is, that it does NOT contain panoramic image data - which is necessary. Compare (left their file, right a correct looking E57 structure):
