CAD Performance - Windchill running on AWS Cloud

Hello

Would like to check if any PTC customers running windchill on AWS Cloud and how is the CAD performance from different geographic locations?
We are trying to explore AWS Cloud to host windchill but wondering how the CAD Performance would to for actions like checkin/checkout/download using Creo for large assemblies.
If anyone has similar setup and can throw light on experience with AWS and CAD performance with windchill, would be helpful in evaluating AWS Cloud.

- Windchill on AWS Cloud
- Replica servers from different geographic locations
- CAD connectivity to windchill using Creo.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Cicil

Our company moved all servers (about 900) to AWS about 3 years ago.

All has been working well in general since.  Users access Windchill from many places globally. We have not yet (and not plans to do so) used replica servers.

Data historically is all Creo; Solidworks with WGM usage growing rapidly and is now over half of recent activity.

Product CAD data is not huge; fixture / tool CAD data can be very large.  Performance very acceptable for all in general, although we don't have any real metrics on it.

Thank you.

Do you know if you are using AWS edge locations/CDN to to distribute content to end user to reduce latency?

Good questions - don't know. We just see the vault as the E:\ drive of the Windchill server.  No knowledge at this time of what's behind it.  Note: We currently have just over 2 TB vaulted files.

@cpilli
We've been running on AWS Cloud since the summer with locations in Europe and North America. No problems, and we've done some time tests.
We were curious about mirroring a site in Europe (the Cloud physical location is N. Calif), but we've just not experienced any lag time.  We have some assemblies over 10,000 parts.

Hope that helps.
