Do you need to check .sec files into your CAD data management system?

Do you need to check .sec files into your CAD data management system?

I created parts and assemblies in creo, which is connected to windchill, so they were stored in the workspace of windchill. Then, I need to check them into the common space of windchill. But there are also files like "s2d0049.sec", "s2d0050.sec" and so on, which I did not create by myself, but they appeared in the workspace, after I had created the parts and assemblies. Does somebody maybe know what the ".sec"-files are, and whether they need to be checked into the commonspace? Because as far as I understand, you would also need to rename every ".sec"-file so that it is unique inside of windchill. Thanks a lot for any ideas and replies!

.sec files are section files. Sometimes Creo creates them as separate files, split from a model. I would not check in as most are not needed. They would clutter up system. The only use for them would be if you wanted a library of sections for certain shapes for your designers to download. That can be handled administratively.
