ESI Distribution Target Types

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to connect Windchill and Oracle Cloud using ESI Module. In the Distribution Target type, I was exploring the options "File" and "Oracle Applications". I know that the File type is used when we want to transfer the XML content to the downstream system. When should we consider Oracle Application type?. Since I could not find a lot of information on this, requesting your inputs.

I use File since I am exporting the XML file to a local folder. It indicates how you are connecting. For example, FTP asked for FTP connection information. If you are wanting to connect directly to the Oracle ERP, then choose Oracle. I believe those direct and bi-directional connections require the full ESI module and Tibco connector for these ERP systems.
