How to manager AFX & Piping in Windchill

Version: Windchill 11.2

Use Case: One of our customer has updated the windchill & Creo 11, He is looking for a suggestion to manage the AFX & Piping

Description:

How do we manage the AFX & Piping modules in Windchill?

1 How can we use the AFX module in conjunction with our Windchill number policy? Currently, we have to use a generic project name to start the module.

2 The same issue applies to the Piping module, which allows users to input any generic name to begin modeling. How can we control the piping number?

3 What is the correct way to save a Manikin in the Windchill library and retrieve it when a user accesses the Manikin module?

Thanks

Consider upgrading your Windchill version as its off support. For the manikin, we created matching folders and structure in Windchill the same as you would on a local drive:

Ensure users are read only to this area so it does not get modified. In your config.pro, you can call out Windchill folders like this:

ptc_manikin_library_path wtpub://PDMLink/Libraries/General Parts Library/Manikin

Note that the hostname alias needs to be consistent for all users so best to align that across the board. Same can be done for other libraries.
