IEC 61709 supported in Windchill Quality Solutions?

Hi all

According to this Link: https://webstore.iec.ch/publication/6946 the Norm TR 62380 has been replaced by the IEC 61709.

Will there be an update in Windchill Quality Solutions (62380 --> 61709) or do we have to buy another prediction standard?

Thanks for your feedback.

Best Regards

Martin

Hi Yoshi

Unfortunately, I didn't receive any feedback until now.

We probably have to choose another Standard like SN29500 or FIDES...

If I get some Information, I'll let you know too.

Best Regards

Martin

Today we support IEC TR 62380 which is an old standard that has been merged with IEC 61709:2017 which has just been released.

We have not scheduled yet the support for this new standard.

I have found that Siemens SN29500 is not up to date to nes standard. Models in tool are at leat 5 years overdue.

To your point, as far as SN29500 we have done a first implementation years ago and since then have never had any request about it.

This standard  is odd in that every part category like capacitors is its own document which is updated independently.

In the software we just called it version because we just took the latest of each document released at that time (around 2009). There is no plan right now to update this standard.

I was involved in discussions with Siemens in 2007/2008 when Relex  implemented the standard and I am still in contact with Siemens reliability engineers.

Sections 1, 2, 3 and 11 have been updated since 2009 and 2 new section (15 and 16 ) have been added.

Competitive tools like ITEM are up to date with new standard sections.
