Import a Autocad DWG to workspace the document category is always CAD Part

We use a Windchill template for new ACAD drawings which set the document category to drwaing.

I exported a ACAD Drawing from my Workspace to make some tests at our testsystem.

After import the DWG into my Workspace at our test system the document category is set to CAD Part.

I found no oportunity to change the document category at the import menue.

Has anyone a soulution for this problem?

Hi Pankaj,

I have seen that the Document subcategory has changed to default Drawing.

We are on the right way, I want to change the document category, perhaps PTC_STD_DWG is the wrong name.

Any idea for the right name?

Hi Peter,

 

Can you please set "PTC_STD_DWG" = true in the AutoCAD file that you are trying to import? Please add it in AutoCAD File>Drawing Utilities>Drawing Properties>Custom. Then from Windchill Workgroup Manager, import that file from your local disk.

Hi Pankaj,

 

thank`s for you fast help.

I tried it but after import the Categoy was also CAD Part.

 

I opened a correct drawing and check the drawing properties I dont see any parameter which shows the document category.
