Question

Intralink Client in a Citrix environment

We are moving our Intralikn 3.x server from a physical machine to a virtual machine. When the move occurs, it will also be from on-site to a regional data center half way across the county. Our IT expert feels this will have a huge impact on performance and suggested logging into a Citrix client and running Intralink in that environment. Is this a feasible solution, does any one have a solutionm similar to this?

TIA.

Usually when you discuss Pro/INTRALINK 3.x, you also need Pro/ENGINEER linked to a Pro/INTRALINK workspace.
In my experience, Pro/ENGINEER is not usable in a Citrix environment due to significant delays in graphics response (try rotating or zooming a model).

Pro/INTRALINK 3.x is very slow over a WAN, but it will work depending on the network latency and there are settings to reduce the chatter between the client and server.
We used Pro/INTRALINK 3.4 with a Riverbed WAN optimizer between Virginia and India for two years before going to Windchill, but patience was definitely required.
