Rename current revision only

We have documents in PDMLink that were named with a Dept of Energy requirement of a (U) after the drawing title. In 2012, DoE revised there requirement and moved the (U) to before the title.

We now have the ned to rename new revsions of the part with (U) in front of the title. When you do a rename in PDMLink, it renames ALL the versions of the WTpart, part and drawing file names. Is there any way to ONLY change the latest version name so as to retain the prior versions with (U) after the name.

Rev 0 would be: PART TITLE (U)

Rev 1 would be: (U) PART TITLE

The name is stored with the master object which is common to all revisions and iterations. So there is no way to rename a specific revision.

Yes, there is no way to rename the latest version of a file, but you could save it as your new name and the delete the latest iteration.

Sounds like your best bet is to capture the new name change paradigm by process, either by a backward looking comment in the check-in or more formally by way of Change Notice.

Also keep in mind that the Rename history is still kept as well if you do move forward with a rename.
