Hello,

Has anyone ever used a promotion request to set effectivity? Can this even be done?

Thanks,

Sarah

I would recommend using an ECT and ECTs to set effectivity. Effectivity
is really part of a change process anyway since you are determining when
to make something "effective" as a change to something else that is
already effective. That ECN effectivity tool is so good, I don't know why
you would want to do something else.

Agree with Al.

By definition, effectivity is for a new Revision of a Part.
Need to consider and address both

- Disposition: What do we do with the remaining Rev B?

- Effectivity: How do we manage the use of Rev C in place of Rev B?

Although - Effectivity for Documents could be addressed w/o Disposition.

Hi Sarah

We set effectivity dates in promotion request. We had a robot developed by a company call Wincom Consulting. Its a basic workflow and once it has been approved by all the required parties we have a expression robot set the effecivity date.
