Show evidence of review without update in Windchill

Hi all,

Is there any way in Windchill to show that you have reviewed an existing document, without having to actually update or revise it.

I don't want to make changes to the document, just to be able to provide evidence that a review had been performed.

Thanks,

Melvin

Hi Melvin,

Yes, you can! In the out-of-the-box configuration of Windchill 9 or 10 at least it's called "approval" workflows as opposed to "review" workflows.

Examples of approval workflows are:

  • In a project you can route a document for Approval
  • In a product as part of doing a promote of an object to a new state you can select an approval workflow

For both types the document will not change it's state before it's either approved or rejected for that matter.

All of this is costumizable using the worflow administrator.
