Smart Classification Attributes

I'm wondering if it is possible to have "smart" classification attributes?  For instance if I have 2 attributes:  1.  Thread Type (with a drop down containing choices of Internal or External) 2.  Thread Class (with a long drop down of choices  In the case where a user selects Internal  in the Thread Type, can a Thread Class showing only internal thread classes be shown (same for if user selects External-then External thread classes are shown).  I'm wondering if this is feasible using the Classification Manager, or with IT programming of the system.  Looking for any experience and tips.  Thank you!
