View Equivalent parts outside MAPSB

Is there any way to view the Equivalent part outside the MAPSB.
When we create new downstream branch, it is possible to see the Downstream views in the part history tab.
But if we create new downstream part with new part number, then the only way to see downstream part would be to search using the Part number string and hope to identify the equivalent part through suffix or to open the BOM in MAPSB (Not an easy or elegant or effective way).
Is there any solution like Alias attribute?
Ideal solution would be to display the MAPSB Equivalent parts tab in the regular Part view through custom tabs section

Hi @RaviM

you need to define two attributes

Hi,

"New part" creates equivalent link --> You can add equivalent object information to the details page.

  • Works when equivalent link exist between design and manufacturing.
  • Add upstream & downstream to view the information from both design and manufacturing parts.

Hello @RaviM

Yes, you have "three" options.

1. Use alias attribute on the detail page (configuration)

2. Use Windchill extension app (payment is needed)

3. Create own custom table to show the equivalences. (customization)

4. Yes you can use Report management to report the equivalences but it is not so user friendly

Thank you PetrH,

The Windchill Extension solution looks good. We will try it based on possibility of license availability.

Is there any example for Alias attribute available.

Regards

Ravi
