What is an Info*Engine..? why will we use it..? please provide with natural example.

Info*Engine provides communication between different aspects of Windchill. Yes, it is a required piece of the installation.

ThankYou for the reply. Info*Engine is like what..?? Is it Assisting a monitor with keyboard and mouse or assisting a  computer with printer. Is it a mandatory thing or optional..??

It is a mandatory part of WIndchill. It provides process to process communication between modules of Windchill. It is a behind-the-door application. It specifically provides communication between the LDAP and Windchill itself.

A general question, since info*engine comes as an integral part of Windchill, why is licensing required then for customization? Will there be any additional files or anything like that provided if licensing is done or is it only for the support from PTC?
