Windchill IaC Deployment

Version: Windchill 13.0

 

Use Case: We would like to have some automation to our Windchill installations, so we were thinking about Terraform and Ansible. Does anyone have any previous experience with this setup and any example that can be shared?


Description:

We would like to know how the Ansible playbook would look like and how the installer would be called.

You really cant do this today with the way the installer works. With that being said PTC is offering a containerized version of Windchill in Docker. You will need to contact PTC to get access and sign some paperwork. There are some limitations and what not, but the PM is getting pretty aggressive in wanting this to be more wide spread.
