Community Tip - You can change your system assigned username to something more personal in your community settings. X
Hi,
I am using Windchill 10 and want to access some ressources on my domain from within windchill. I´ve changed the user which starts the windows service to achieve this. (Windows Services -> Windchill Service -> Run As) It looks like it´s working after I´ve changed the permissions for files/folders to allow full access for the new user. But is this a safe scenario?
Regards,
Patrick
Sorry to dredge up this old thread, I had the same thought process. I found this article on the knowledgebase though, which suggests that this is the correct way to do it: Article - CS363093 - Level of permission of a Windows user to configure Windows Service in Windchill PDMLink (ptc.com)
It does feel like it is a bit too open though. What did you do in the end?
