Working with unsupported CAD files

My group uses a few CAD programs which are not supported in Windchill 10.0 with a work group manager. I can download the content to a local drive and check-out. When I check-in the file I can pick any file. The issue I see is if multiple users have downloaded content there is no control over who has the latest version. Procedures can help with this but this requires some additional discipline on the part of the user. Is there a way to import the files so that they can be added to add edited within a Windchill workspace?

Unfortunately, in workspace , we can only manage supported CAD Document, or Arbortext document ...

I'm asking PTC for a long time to have a generic WorgroupManager Workpace framework, where we can configure which kind of file/objects we want to manage ... And with customization hook to be able to code some logic (how to retrieve dependencies, structure etc ...)

notably to manage non supported CAD files or CAM files ...

uhhmm I will create an idea ....
