Enhancement Request: Property Logging

I have had a couple customers who have asked if it possible to log data as properties. Right now we are using the comments as a work around but it would be helpful if we could specific in the step the name of the property(e.g. Resistance) and maybe units (e.g. ohms) and then the user would be prompted with a text input with the property name already specified.
