Saving error "No transaction open"

Hello everyone

I have quite a big problem while trying to save a few modified assemblies in ProductPoint. ProE says : "No transaction open".

Once I have this problem with an assembly, I can't save any modification in this file. Today, I have two cases but I'm afraid to see this number going bigger and bigger.

I have a SPR running but still no solution.

Does anyone ever met this problem ?

PTC just told me, this problem has been solved using ProdutcPoint M040.

Ok I think I've solved this problem.

It seems to be due to dependencies in parts. Let's be honest, the message "no transaction open" is not explicit at all !

If your part has been designed using reference from other parts or assemblies, you need to have them loaded in session. Otherwise ProE lost the dependency and can't save it into productpoint.

You can see references/dependencies by right clicking on your part in the model tree, info, reference viewer (don't know the exact term in english). If you have a dependency in red, you have to solve it first before saving.

<Saving error "No transaction open"> is an indication of an internal error in the communication layer between Pro/ENGINEER and WPP server. Unfortunatly because of this the couse of the original problem is not really known to Pro/ENGINEER to be shown.

The following steps could be recommended:

1. Backup all models on the local disk from Pro/ENGINEER session, and keep it running.

2. Exit the WPP Client Manager.

3. If after ~10 seconds Pro/ENGINEER will not show 'Disconnected', then Start Windows Task Manager, find and kill all 'ProductPointServiceAgent.exe' processes.

4. Start the WPP Client Manager.

5. Repeat the save from Pro/ENGINEER, using the FileSave Dialog. You may recieve warrnings that your are overriding server versions, which you don't see usually. You may ignore them, because (most of them) would be due to 'resetting' steps (#2 - #4).

If the error be shown once again, then you should exit Pro/ENGINEER.

Then start it again, retrieve your model(s) from backup (step #1).

Analyze the models for missed/unresolved depednedcies, and try either resolve them, or suspend them before the next save onto WPP attept.

Once again some 'misleading' warnings could be seen.

We've tryed the solution form Florent and it work. You have to solve any trouble in to the model (most dependance).
